A dreamy day trip to the Collinpur Beach, situated at around 40-45 kilometres from Port Blair this is a beautiful, sandy, shallow beach. Due to its secluded nature the beach is cleaner and quieter. Its covered by dense vegetation and you won't know that you're near the sea until you actually get a glimpse of it. Its a long stretch flanked by a hill on one side and since the gradient is not steep, its ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
The main attraction is however, another beach called Khurma Dera. This beach is situated a little farther from Collinpur and is more deserted and quieter. The car cannot go up to the beach so you need to walk nearly 2-2.5 kilometres to reach the beach. The walk will be through a very muddy and slushy path along a creek. There is a chance of crocodile spotting every now and then. Kurma means shells and you can find the most amazing shells on this beach and the shells are predominantly blue in colour.

As the trip begins you will be driven around 40 odd kilometers from the city to the outskirts.
First up you shall be visiting the Colinpur Beach, the beauty of this long stretch of sand is a quiet and tranquil.
Spend some time sunbasking and swimming in the waters of Colinpur Beach before heading to the Khurmadera Beach.
This beach is another kilometre and a half away from Colinpur. Our car shall not go till the beach due to the rough roads ahead.
You will have to walk/hike around 2 kilometres to witness the blue shells at the Khurmadera Beach, the pathway to the beach is a bit muddy and runs beside a creek.
On this hike to the beach you may occasionally witness salt water crocodiles.
Explore the Khurmadera Beach before heading back to the city.
