Overview

A sightseeing tour which begins at dawn to take you on an epic journey to the Baratang Island via a combination of land and water transfers. You traverse through the Great Andaman Trunk road to the Middle Strait Jetty which is located in the deep reserves of Baratang Island. On the way you cross the Jarawa Settlements in the reserve forests after the Jirkatang check post. You cover almost 90-100 kilometres from Port Blair to reach the Middle Strait Jetty from which you will be boarding a vehicle ferry to the Baratang Jetty also known as the Nilambur Jetty. Once at the Nilambur Jetty you will find yourself in the Middle Andamans Tehsil and this point on your journey will be an adventurous one. You will board a boat to the Limestone Caves which have formed due to the natural water drippings on Limestone rock through millions of years. Explore the caves and hop back on the fibre boat only to be dropped at the Nilambur Jetty for an one hour drive to the Mud Volcano. The natural gases underground have found a way to leak on the surface through thin mud, thus creating this very unique natural wonder of India. Explore the Mud Volcano and its surroundings before heading back to the Middle Strait jetty via the Nilambur Jetty for the return journey back to Port Blair on the same route you have come from.

On this trip the key attraction are the tribal settlements in the Baratang Island as you get to witness the indigenous people of the Jarawa tribe.
